J.B. to House – Petition II for Summary Procedure

till experience has shown the result of the Petition for Codification

The This second Petition of Jeremy Bentham

Proposed Mover of this Petition Sir Francis Burdett.
This presenting less need of entering into details than the
Petition for Dispatch Court: which O'Connell stands pledged for.
Humbly Thereto Moving and supporting: a task for which
he alone is competent.

1. That in and by a Petition lately presented
by him to the Honorable House Your Petitioner the
submitted to the same the expression of his wishes, that
the rule of action should be made rendered accessible to all persons
who stand exposed to suffering for want of its being so,
and that the subjects of this nation might no longer be
punished for the non-performance of impossibilities of this any
which is impossible – giving intimation of the service already
endeavoured by him to be rendered on their behalf to that , and declaring
his readiness to render whatsoever further service might
be in his power.

2. That in prosecution of the same and most proper
Your Petitioner prays that the promise so solemnly
made in and by Magna Charta may be at length fulfilled, and
that justice may no longer be delayed, sold or denied to any
man.

3. That for this purpose to all other forms of procedure they being
all of them without exception opposed instead of being conducive
to the ends of justice, the natural and domestic form already
in use to so considerable an extent, be compleatly substituted
substituted in every whatsoever of the field of law: together
with a Judiciary Establishment framed in the same view, and
adapted to the making application of that exclusively well adapted
mode or system of procedure.
