1 3 4 . Establishment of uniform standards of quantity; such as weights and measures,
as also of standards of quality in merchandizes
merchandizes, where the the nature of them admitts
of it: such as hydrometers for ascertaining the specific
gravity and thence the genuineness and
purity of vinous and other liquors.

which the several sorts of merchandizes
are exposed to, together with their methods of detecting
them: 2. describing the several methods of applying the
respective standards, and the deceits of frauds to which

to keep hung up in his shop &c the instructions
which relate to the wares he deals in.

15. Establishing the use of proper marks as evidences of
quantity or quality on the part of such individual articles of merchandizes
individually taken as admitt of being thus authenticated. For example,
providing for the setting of seals or stamps to
pieces of cloth, expressive of the quantity
