yet exaggerated
by the law

The only mischief, Of all the suffering miseries, incident to this condition
the only one that does not owe its existence to perhaps that is not altogether created by
the law is the disease particularly attached which owes its progress propagation
to this profession to such intercourse . But even this mischief
though it does not aggravate: by the difficulty
it creates of getting any other employment during
the vexations created interruptions occasioned by that obstacle: in short by
the other excesses it drives them to as abovementioned.
At the same time the law by its severity
in this particular precludes itself from those any
expedients attempts it might otherwise have recourse
to in the view of retarding if not at least the progress
propagation of the disease calamity checking at least if
not al annihilating
the calamity
 : if it were only by circulating
a set of cautionary instructions: for what
you will not tolerate bear to look into, act prohibit altogether , you can not regulate.
