Mischief

Secus in offences
of insult.
whereas in offences of enmity,
such as defamation and vilification are frequently
are, and in corporal insults almost always, whatever
is lost by the party injured is so much gained
as it were, or at least so much enjoy'd by the offender:
in the one case the offence is to reputation
