In the advertisement the several sums [that
are] payable at the different periods are mentioned
separately: three guineas, three guineas, a
guinea, and a guinea. Might it not have
been rather better if in the advertisement
itself as in the account
given of it above
[they had been summed
up as above and] the sum total eight guineas had been the
first that met the ear? The remark may appear
trifling and minute on the first glance: but hardly
I should think when it is consider'd of what
are the class the people are whom the government
is here dealing with, and how much the sentiments
of people even of all the first classes are in the
