Let the his bushel be 10 gallons but let the price
of it be 5s: viz: nominally as much greater as y his bushel
is larger than your's. In this case you do not deal
with him at all: although if you knew how the
matter stood you might deal with him to your mutual
advantage. You would not even deal with him
although the price of his bushel were but 4s 6d: in
which case you would actually make get it your corn
6d a bushel cheaper, instead of paying 6d dearer
for it as the nominal price would seem to indicate.
By this means you can miss of this advantage, while
his corn remains perhaps upon his hands.
