of this sort people are apt enought [to in general to
follow the patterns that are set before, and] to
suffer themselves to be led by authorities much inferior
to that of the legislature. Should it prove otherwise,
the point might at any rate be compassed
by a trifling penalty imposed not upon persons
who have bore no part in the transaction as is
the case where invalidation is the penalty, but upon
the persons to whom by whose default the omission

case but that of a will in which of course the

I am forced all along to proceed upon suppose

A supposition which in this case as in
