information thereof to a magistrate.

in question be obliged to keep a copy of the above
regulations hanging up in a conspicuous part of
his shop.

be too minute to be given here: they might depend
in some measure upon local circumstances.

persons in general from having stills in their
possession or chemical laboratories without a license.
Most poisons act only when taken internally
into the stomach: but a poisons have been
brought from certain parts of America which
like that of serpents are said to be fatal when introduced by the slightest
scratch into the circulation. These together
with any other poisons which are not known
to be of any use should be guarded against with
particular anxiety: nor should the communication
of them be permitted at all, but to known persons who
shall have publickly signified their desire intention of examining
into their nature, with a view to the discovery
of antidotes.
Would the embarrassment attending such a set of regulations
be made up for by the advantage? This would depend upon
the degree of prevalence
on the part of the obnoxious
practise.
