OBSACLES PREJUGÉS 5 LAW good or bad?

Shewing what women any man may ravish that pleases
I cannot tell exactly how many thousand Virgins & other Women
whose Honor the Law has given up to the brutality of the first
murder – probably it were worth the enquiry.

Some writer of Commentaries would perhaps be ready
to tell me, that it was is not the Law in fault, but
those deluded Sectaries; laughing in his sleeve to
think how the Heretics were hamper'd for their non-conformity.
