Method of treating each head of Offence.
Note
existence of an exemptive circumstance or set of exemptive
circumstances of the 2d order, a rejoinder:
an instrument alledging the existence of a re-instative
circumstance or set of re-instative circumstances

concerning a rebutters, and surrebutters, and so on
if there be any remaining stages of altercation through
which the selfish ingenuity of a special pleader has
dragged his bewilder'd client.
11.thly and lastly.After having gone through in the manner [as many
of heads of offences as it may be necessary to
go through] a competent number of offences.
Having travelled on upon this plan till I find
a convenient place spot to [make a] pause at, I shall
in terminis conclude by proposing in terminis such
institutions as [it] may seem to competent to establish
relative to this as many heads of offence as have
been previously considered. This concluding article will be the
result and fruit of the researches instanced in the
preceding ones [those preceding it.]

In regard to Offences of the two first classes, to establish an exemption in favour of the act
in consideration of some particular some particular
permanent character with which the author is invested, is to
confer a correspondent Power on persons invested with that
character. To define adjust settle the limits of that such a power
is to define the circumstances that ought to be
