Of Compensation

of the country it can no longer be reputably worn by
a person of the owner's condition, let him on the score of
simple restitution receive the price of a new one; the author of the
damage being at liberty to take the old one if he
pleases.

Consequential damage to be taken into the account.
Let consequential damage, how remote soever, as well
as what is direct and immediate be taken into the account.
For, as far as the circumstances of the parties
admit, every particle of the damage, one as well as another,
ought to meet with compensation.

Example, In Personal Injuries.
Thus with regard to simple personal injuries, a
severe beating for example: in taking an account of the
damage resulting from such an injury the following
articles, where they obtain in point of fact will need
to be inserted.

1. The pain felt immediately from the bruises.
2. The pain attending the inflammation, fever, or any
other disease that may happen in consequence of the bruises. 3. The
