Under the British Constitution, in England the supreme
judicial power is not lodged the whole of it, in the same
hand or set of hands. In a mass of causes to by for
the greater extent, it is possessed and exercised by one of the
branches of the those branches of the supreme legislative power
viz: the House of Lords: under another mass of causes, to
a much less extent it is possessed and exercised by another
of the three branches of the supreme legislative power viz: the King.
By Between the two together the whole of the or very nearly the whole
of the supreme legislative judicial power is shared excepting
the important but comparatively narrow howsoever highly
important branch possessed and exercised by the House of Commons remaining branch of the supreme legislative power,
the House of Commons: such the power it exercises of what has been called its inquisitorial power: viz:
collecting evidence, though without the power of decision from all persons and in all cases.
