Hence the error speculation of going about to reprobate a line of
the legislator on the mere ground of its being repugnant to natu
justice – to natural justice: and the mischief – the pretence
mischief of any such doctrine as should maintain that of
this or that law, that on the ground of its being repugnant
to any such dictate, it is void: i.e. that subjects
are by considerations of morality bound or warranted to resist
the Judge on the measures taken by him for enforcing
the ordinances of the legislator in that behalf, or that the
Judge is in like manner bound or warranted to refuse to
the legislator his superordinate, his official assistance.
