The expence &c attached to of providing adequate and proportionate remuneration
for persons so highly excelled in power and dignity
being unavoidably very considerable, while after the discharge of
the existing arrear, the time unoccupied generally of disposable time
on the part of those functionaries, will
notwithstanding the naturally
increasing state of the mass of business to may also be considerable the quantity
of disposable time remaining upon their hands may still be
considerable, certain other subsidiary functions presented themselves as
capable of being discharged by or under the superintendence of the same persons functionaries, without
every
very little addition to the expence, and with signal and hitherto
unknown advantage to the ends of justice. These as
being now in respect of their proposed connection with
supreme appellate judicature, new, and thence not forming
a necessary part of the proposed succedaneum judicature,
are reserved for a separate paper, under the head of
the proposed statistic, interpretation and amelioration
functions of the proposed Court of Lords Delegates.
