Appeal to Pass or not to Pass execution – In the
three kingdoms, inconsistent diversity on this head

Here then are the three kingdoms – under the same legislature
three united, or said to be united, kingdoms – in which
in this plain and conspicuous part of the field of public
utility and justice, the rule of action is hushed dictated into all
has undergone been subjected to all the perversions it is susceptible of
the and inconsistencies.

But Justice, it seems, is has been discovered to be the child of Power.
But, by a recent discovery discovery reserved for these our times, Justice has been found to be
the child creature of Power, following it in all its turnings and
windings, as the shadow does the substance.

In Scotland, in whatever shape his property happens to be in it being illegal for a man to cheat his
creditors, it is also unfit unjust and dishonourable.

In England, it being legal for a man who will take
the trouble to pull give to his property into a certain shape, to cheat
his creditors, it is also fit, just and honourable.

All are men are equal – in power and right – all equal – all the world over – and
ought for ever to be kept so: thus say the rights of man.
All laws are equal – equal in point of propriety and rectitude –
justice: propriety rectitude and justice and so as far as to utility,
public utility, it is not worth a thought. All laws are alike
proper: the laws which ordain human sacrifices and the
laws which forbid them: the laws which oppress men for their offences,
and the laws which relieve them from the Yoke. Thus
say the right of lawyers.

All men are equal in lawful power and right on the ground of right for utility is not worth a thought – and the proclaimers of
the rights of may.

All laws are equal in or if you please in such as the ground of propriety – for utility is not worth a thought –
all laws we mean that have had no further makers cry the proclaimers of the rights
of lawyers. Whatsoever we make becomes right ipso facto right as real the instant we have made it.
