House & Furniture

Pots of flowers
one above another
the whole height
of a house on
the outside, or
of a Panopticon
on the inside:
the plant in the
pot below embracing
the pot
above: as at

Mosaic wooden
floors

Such of 3 rooms
the 2 partitions
with corresponding
arches opening
by slides: Other and
upon occasion the
whole partitions
to remove entirely + + with opposite Looking Glasses at the loose ends in a line with the Arches
Quere. — Quere
where put the
fire place of the
middle room?

Hot-house and
Green house to
turn with the
Sun.

The supports of the
Pots that stand
at the windows
to turn on their
axis, that they
may be presented
towards the company
in the room when
there is company,
and afterwards at
other times turned
in their natural
position towards the
light

Sashes

To be not one on
the side of the other
the upper one not behind
the lower, but immediately
under it at the
same right line: the
upper most terminally
in a wedge, lined
with cloth, and fitting
into a wedge-shaped channel
on the lower one.
The upper one therefore
rising into the story above,
the lower one
sinking into the story below.
Metal Sashes but
as they will always
rise and fall early,
neither shrinking nor
swelling.

Make on the outside
of the lower
part of the window
(where it comes down
to the ground) to the
height to which windows
come down generally,
a Quasi-Green-house, to be
with shutters and
to be warmed by warm
air from pipes, on
frosty nights.

+ The end rooms
One a Concert the
other a Ball Room
that the Musics
may not interfere.
The Middle for
Cards — Chess —
Back Gammen
A bye-Room for
Billiards.
The Orchestra out
of sight — By a Jalousie? Upon a
higher or lower level
in order not to derange
the symmetry
of the Suite.

Swells might
be made by the
gradual opening
and shutting of
Partitions between
the Orchestra &
the Suite

Pictures made by
prisms so managed
as to transmitt
each only one colour
by intercepting the
rest.
Or by Spectra
formed by globular
lenses filled with
coloured fluid
or by plates of
stained glass —
the office of the Sun
being performed by
Argand's Lamps

Copy of Hamilton's

exhibition.

& other Optical Exhibitions.

Orchestra

It might be partly
over or under the Passage
behind the Suite
Room — partly or
over be taken out
of the superior
story — in the
Entresol way.

Quere which is
best? for the
room to ascend
or descend?
But if it ascends,
foul Air will
ascend with it,
at least unless
precautions be taken.

The Suite to be
partly heated by
Steam on Street's
Method.

The Central Dome
removable and
over it a h cylindrical
hollow all the
way up to the top
of the House.

Instead of Staircase
Spiral ascent winding
round all the
way — the ascent
so gentle as not to
need steps
Something to see or hear at
top to make a
pretence for the
up & down hill promenade.
This spiral promenade
could afford
a pretty scene constantly
changing.

Ceiling and vacant
spaces of inside
wall encrusted
with Oil shop spangles.
The Dome might
have spangles of different
colours in stripes
Tall spangles a la
Russe
Spangles of Eckhardt's
manufacture

The Dome to rise
or fall by a counterpoise
so as to
shew more or less of
the Spiral Promenade.

Dome studded
with circular
compartments diminishing
proportionately to the top.

Dancing Figures
put in motion by a
powerful Electrical
Apparatus
Confined to their stage
by a glass ring

Figure

Adam Eve & the Serpent
J. C. and the Devil
Jupiter Juno &
Punch Harlequin
in their proper groups
or mixt

If the machine
were powerful could
not the figures be
of bladder &
inflated?

Shower of Snow
in like manner
To be luminous
it must be in a
dark closet and
looked at through
a hole.
Title the Angel &
the Fish

The front and back
of some of the figures
may be different
in the James-stile
Shower of Spangles
such as they sell at
the Oil-shops.

A concentric similar
gallery within
the promenade to
keep up and down
with people in it
so that those who
do not choose to walk
up hill may thus be
carried, and walk
only down hill

---page break---

The Compartments
of paintings may
be figures of the
personages of the different
mythologies
J. C. the devil
Jupiter Juno &c
Bramah
Fo-Sammoniesdon
Mahomet

Lay gold-leaf on
paper — and so stamp
paper and golding
together — will not this
be cheaper than gilt
wood for Picture-frames
&c?

Gold-beating by
Machinery —

---page break---

Figures to start up
into life upon the touch
of a wand
Make them of silk &c
made air-tight and
unattackable by acids
by Elastic Rein
with a weight to steady
the feet or the head
which ever is to be
lowermost
Inclose two very thin
glass bubbles — one
with acid, the other with
aerated alkali.
the figures as
they lie flat with the
wand so as to break
the glass, and the air
will swell them out
& make them rise.

In the another touch of the
wand (turning a cock
under the feet) the
air would be let out,
& the figures fall down
again.
The air at its exit
might make a whistling
by going through a
whistle.
If three figures, the
whistles might make
a chord.
One figure a Priapus
Another the devil
with hollow horns and a
hollow Tail

Or if the figures
are to be fixed, the
inflation may be performed
by turning of a rod
without the chemical
liquors.
Or simply by bellows
and thus they might be
alternately turned & flaccid
