Prevention, is it among the object of the Reverend Doctor's
feeling? - prevention by terror means of- by warning of the
punishment appreciated in each case for him who in
that case and in that way start shall transgress?
Of the several ends of punishment prevention is by+ because in
most and perhaps by himself in other places
regarded as the most important. So it is? the most important if so, then
this occasion is this most important of all
objects put out kept of sight and sacrificed altogether.
For of a sort of crime (if there was such a thing which there
is not) of a sort of crime, which in many of its natural circumstances of
which were incapable of being described, by what
means is it that for the purpose of a mans
being deterred from the commission of it, any conception
of it can be lodged in his mind?
