by what means is it that for the purpose
of a man being deterred from the Commission
of it, my conception of it can be
lodged in his mind.—

In supposition which on this occasion
has some appearance of being impimplied
and assumed by the Reverend Doctor and
which the learned Gentlemen of the long
robe will have no objection to see acceded
to is that in the language of the law i.e.
in the language in use among the said
learned gentlemen there is something
peculiarly and even exclusively adapted
to the purpose of explanation. But to a
conception to this effect if really entertained
to an exact coincidence with the line
of truth some little correction might require
to be made. So far as concerns ep explanation,
the property which this recondite
and formidable part of the language
possesses in a preeminent degree seems
to be rather the creating a demand for
explanation than the satisfying any
such
