In most instances, and so far as
concerns the body of each language, it
being the interest, it being the interest of
those by whom it was framed, it has been
their endeavour to render it generally intelligible;
and according to the measure of
their talents success to a greater or less degree
of perfection has attended their endeavours.
In the particular instance in question, as
well as in some others, unfortunately it has
been the interest of those whom in the particular
part in question the language has
had for its authors— it has been their
interest and consequently their endeavour
to render it to the unlearned, at any rate
