N.B. The Ink and Varnish should be carefully covered up
after using.

Printing Ink No 3

As I expect very strong Printing Ink will be required in
Warm Climates some very stiff has been mixed which
may be ground up with more lamp black if necessary
to be still stiffer or more varnish if too stiff. A very
small quantity say 1/2 oz. may be rubbed together at a time,
the less quantity at a time the better will it be united
by the friction. The perfection of the Printing Ink
depends on the perfect union of the materials.

Printing

The temperature of about 60° is most convenient
for printing when very cold or very hot some difficulties
will arise. In hot weather the Printing Ink is to be
used stronger than in cold. After the transfer has
been made the Acid Solution thrown over and Gum
Water applied the Stone is reading for Printing, first
