Number of Adults taught 40,000
Time for the above 3 years ending Xmas 1816

Of these females not more than 100
Females preferable because of their teaching the children

Time for the set 2 Months
They are taught by progressive
steps. A teaches
B. topic 1. B. teaches
C. topic 1: and so on,
they follow one another
from one to a hundred.
While the Master Universal
master, after teaching
the first set of lessons to
one set of Scholars, is
going on to teach a
second set a second
set of lessons, one of the
first set of Scholars
who has learnt no
more than the first
set of lessons is occupied
in teaching that first
set to one a new
set of Scholars

Thus all the male
adults of one Village
are taught.
Each man is taught
on condition of his
teaching others.
C. then goes to another
village distant about
20 miles, all the villages
between the two
are taught by those
of the first village:
and thus from village
to village at 20
miles interval.

In Ireland no bounds
to the number of a set,
the number of their working
hours being more at their
command: they working in
their own hands, not as day-labourer.
But in England where
they can only be taught
out of working hours
24 is the usual number
of a set.
