16
But at the time when the Hero
Botzaris, was making his way through
the Turks as lightenning, some laying
in wait pierced with his sword this
gallant & victorious man in the
middle of his shoulder.

17
He then fell bravely for his country,
having left as a Hero glory & good fame,
in the fair & divine land of Greece; so, that every one holds admiration
for his memory.

18
On his body, however, a dreadful
battle was fought, where sword touches
sword & breast touches breast,
then Constantine Botzaris is proclaimed
chief, who disperses the enemy.

19
Then immediately with thunder
& lightning, a voice came from the
sky, tremendously loud, saying, "a children
"of the Greeks, fear not in what
"happened, for so the divine will
has decreed;

20
"And as in the city of Callas (Athens)
"Codrus's blood brought liberty, so
"the blood of Marcus will brink
"safety in all Greece.
