Besides Sarbiewski the Latin poets of Poland and
Janicki who was made poet (a e 𝛆, /c 16' y. Laureate by the Pope
& c Kn 28 year (1490? qs. of character of Poland
Skop – a peasant who travelled towards the south &
visited England – a military adventurer – who returned
home & gave himself up to his political studies

Dr OConnor says that in his time "Almost all the common
people studied Latin universally" the use of that language is almost
universal in Poland. It was employed with Courts of Law, – in
the churches & in conversation among the higher classes.
