The the songs are sung
There the tales are told
There the dances with respectful bowsx There the cenar and goniony (dance of the Polonaise which was once danced like a minuet

(Amusements of the poles, a sort of
the french petits jeu:- are now more
known, or current under other
names. You may put translate it by
Blind Harry which is known in Poland
as or by the Mice and is called Slepa
babka
and <foreign><hi rend="underline">Zmurki</foreign></hi> in Lithuania
Goniony is a sort of game translate by Hide and Seek.

(It will be better to employ here the iron traps grins for the hares)
In the twighlight the landlords places himself in ambuscade
To shoot foxes and hares
Or in the wood extends snares for the birds
And never causes returns with empty hand

In the river he catches fish
Into his nets and water his angles
And around him a choir of birds
Merrily warble in the shade wood trees

The herds and flocks fresh at lakes
And the Shepherd sitting in the shade
Sangs Frames his songs to his rustic reed
And the Genie of the wood dance to it.

Meanwhile the active landlady
Is preparing the evening repast
Having as much in her
As not to need to go into the market
