Witchcraft
The Wife
The three night is past since he left his home
Why should I not think something is amiss – It must be so
I cannot know where he is & what he does:
He must have a strong stomach who can bear much woe
Come Thestily & bring – bring the materials of witchcraft
Let me at least, let my grieved heart in this rejoin
Why If he intended to be absent from home he shod not marry
When I feel sorrow she shd feel it too.
And she shall not rejoice who fascinated him
Who does harm to others let him expect to be harmed.
I conjure thee, Moon! Which only the excess of my grief wd do
A bad conduct let it be met by bad conduct ()
He had nothing to complain of me; he took me from my parents house
And with a good dower – he has no reason to be ashamed of me
I am a good hands housewife – & a good wife
He has a good servant in me – yet he scorns my love
Thou pledged faith be my avenger! He who sees not God over him
