Klonowicz. He wrote Latin as well as Polish poetry
It is of a humorous and sarcastic character. His works
are become extremely rare.

Naruszewicz. The most distinguished of the historians
of Poland. His History of that Country in 6 Vol: has
furnished much matter to Karamzin who quotes him with
approbation. The general servilism & flattery of his times
are too prominent in his works. He however broke down thro' the
trammels of the Jesuits, – tho' a Jesuit himself – and ventured to
employed his mother tongue for his literary works. He translated
Tacitus with great felicity – & informed the taste of
his countrymen – in spite of the priests – under
