Birds drinking
The little warblers of the field & wood
That drinks fluttering drinks from fountain or from stream
Turn their eyes upward – if Look upward – as to heaven: to me they seem
Looking as if in Uttering a hymn of silent gratitude:
The thought perchance may a delusion be
Best such a thought Yet sweet & salutary 'tis to me.
Friendship offering
