Had scathed both mountain & river –
And freedom – sole Sun of the universe
Had set upon Greece for ever:
He looked & Then he heard a voice – & it said Awake!
Awake! for Greece is waking
And he felt the earth beneath him shake
And the mountains roused him shaking
