Mr. BOWRING has nearly completed a HISTORY OF THE LITERATURE, and especially the political literature, OF
BOHEMIA. It will be divided into three parts: the first comprising a selection of the historical ballads and early poetry of
the Bohemians down to the time of John Hus; the second embracing the traditional and lyrical compositions of the people;
and the third consisting of specimens of the more cultivated productions of the modern poets of Bohemia.

The publication of the RUNES OF FINLAND, announced some time ago, will be somewhat delayed by Mr. Bowring's
intention to add to them sundry Laplandish and Esthonian compositions, which he has already been able to collect, and
which will enable him to give a more comprehensive view of the state of letters among the three principal branches of the
Fennic stem.
The quantity of popular poetry which has been accumulating in Mr. Bowring's hands, induces him to combine
the whole in a volume, which he hopes soon to publish. It will be entitled SLAVONIAN SONGS, and will consist of specimens
from Russian, Polish, Bohemian, Moravian, Slovakian, Servian, Walachian, Bulgarian, and other Slavonic idioms.
