N {1/3 of which to be retained by the Proposer for
payment of his necessary clothing untill the
amount thereof not exceeding £3 shall have
been discharged —
who shall be willing to accept thereof
and able to do a day's work in the way of ordinary day
labour , or if not so able then to pay him at any rate according
to the utmost of his ability
14. To insure to the Prisoners an honest and sufficient livelyhood
at the expiration of their terms, the Proposer engages to take
into his pay at a rate not less than 18 a day exclusive of lodging
washing and firing every such prisoner who shall be
willing to accept thereof and [diligently endeavour] duly endeavour
to earn the same and duly serve according to his power; and so faor as long as he shall continue able
to labour and willing as aforesaid. Government paying the sum of £5
for the cloathing and outfitting of every such discharged prisoner.
15 Provided always that in the case of every such prisoner
as may happen to be discharged as aforesaid without having
been under the care of the proposer for so long time as a
year, as much more shall be paid upon his discharge
as when added to what was paid for his maintenance during
his confinement shall make the sum of £12. To
