Our Will and Pleasure is that by Virtue of our General
Letters of Privy Seal, bearing date the 5th November 1760 , you do
issue and pay or cause to be issued and paid out of any our Treasure
or Revenue in the Receipt of the Exchequer , applicable to the
Uses of our Civil Government , unto Jeremy Bentham Esquire,
or to his Assigns the Sum of Two thousand Pounds by way of
imprest and upon Account to enable him to make such preporations
as may be necessary for the custody and Care of the Convicts
proposed to be confined in the Penitentiary Houses intended to
be created at Battersea Rise or on such other Piece or Pieces
of of Ground as may be appropriated for that purpose And for
so doing this shall be your Warrant . Given at our Court at
Saint James's this 11 day of June 1794 in the Thirty fourth
Year of our Reign
