N. S. Wales
At which place soever produced, the £120,000 worth of
goods would not be to be had by consumers in Britain without
paying for them, any more than if the persons who produced
them had instead of persons emigrating being emigrants from Great Britain,
been so many subjects of Spain or France. Britain they
would in that case have had the same quantity of goods to
consumers without parting sending with any of this capital out of
the country, as well as without at any of charged with these expences,
periodical and occasional, which are attached
to the government and defence of it. From the Colony of
each nation, foreign nations derive as much profit as
that nation, without being charged with any of the expence.
