Of the expence attending the purchase
&c of a spot of Ground for the proposed
Penitentiary Establishment to consist of
a portion of the Waste called Tothill Fields with the
Lands in separate ownership adjacent,
the quantity all together not to be
not less than 79 1/4 (say 80) Acres. this that being the Note
[1] This was the is the qua quantity specified in the Act Contract
and the Act 34 Geo: 3. c. 84. on which
the amount Contract was grounded.

land purchased by Government, in the particular

be worth but £6 a year per Acre: and of the
Lands contiguous to Tothill Fields there may perhaps
be about as much in Meadow as in Gardeners
Ground.
