Article 4th. So soon as the said intended permanent Penitentiary
House shall have been open ed for the reception of
Prisoners, and the Prisoners transferred accordingly
into the same from the said intended Temporary
Penitentiary House, the said intended Temporary
Penitentiary House shall become the absolute property
of the said Jeremy Bentham.
Article 5th. The Upon the transfer of each the
Prisoner Prisoners to such Peni Temporary Penitentiary House
when erected the said Jeremy Bentham shall
be paid at the rate of 1s.2d 1/2 per day for
each every such Prisoner untill the time of his
discharge so long as such Prisoner shall continue
to be maintained in the same: provided always
that within one full year whensoever
possession shall be delivered to the said Jeremy
Bentham or his Representatives as aforesaid if
such proper spot composed to Tothill Fields
or a part thereof with a competent quantity
of adjacent ground as aforesaid, then from and
after that day the expiration of one
full year after commencing on such day the allowance so to
be made to the said Jeremy Bentham or his
Representatives as aforesaid shall be reduced
to the rate of such a sum per day as corresponds
to £13:10s:5d a per year, whether such
Permanent Penitentiary House be then in readiness
for the reception of such Prisoners, or not.
