Sir.
Understanding that it has been determined, that the
Tothill Fields Division and Inclosure Bill for the purpose of the
proposed Penitentiary house shall be bought in next Session, and
that the notices requisite for that purpose shall accordingly be given, and observing from the standing orders of the House of Commons
that the Months of August and September are therein specified
as the Months in the course of which such notions must have been
given or the Bill cannot be brought in. I take the liberty of
bringing the matter to your remembrance, apprehensive that if
for want of timely information on the part of the individual
concerned, the business should fail of being done in time, the
failure might be laid, not without reason, to his charge. The
object of this address is therefore humbly to beg, if there be no objection,
That it may please the Lords commissioners of the Treasury
to give directions to their Solicitor to prepare and give the Notices
requisite for that purpose: and being so materially concerned in
interest to be apprised of whatever steps may come to be taken
in relation to that business. I hope I am not improperly intrusive
in my humble request. That official information may moreover
be given me of such their Lordships directions upon the issuing
of the same, as likewise of any subsequent steps which may
come to be taken in consequence thereof. The Parties to whom it
will be requisite that such notices should be given may be found
by turning to the Case by which the Draught of the Bill
perused and approved by the Attorney and Solicitor General
was accompanied. A consideration that may contribute to evince
the propriety of the communication hereby solicited, is that
having on a former occasion had the honour of waiting on
the Lord Bishop of Rochester in his quality of Dean of
Westminster, and afterwards of attending a meeting of the Dean
& Chapter, who, in their quality of Lords of the Liberty of the Liberty of Westminster are principally interested as "Owners of
