Them for Service or Apprenticeship And when They shall be it so to
be dispos'd of, to Bind & put them out to such Trade Callings or
Services as the said Govrs of their Successors shall Judge meet and
proper, without any Charge or Burthen to the said Parishes other
than as therein & hereinafter is mentioned, that is to say, That they
the said Govrs & the Successors shod & wd from time to time & at all
Times thereafter during the Continuance of the said Lease On the
Presentation of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of St Margaret Westmr for the time being. Admit & Continuing
their said Hospital the constant Number of Thirty five Boys and
Girls who shall have been on the Charge of the said Parish
Three Months at the least before their Admission and are not
under the age of seven years Of which last number of Thirty five
Children the said Govrs for yrselves & their Successors Do Covenant
and agree to provide for and maintain Twenty of them –
without any further or other Charge to the said Parish than the
Payment of Six Shillings a Piece for every Calendar Month
during their Continuance in the said Hospital and the Sum of
Thirty Shillings a Piece toward binding them out apprentice or
putting them to Service And to provide for and maintain the
other Fifteen of the said Thirty five Children without any further
or other Charge to the said Parish than the Payment of the Sum of
Twenty Shillings on the Admittance of every such Child.
And the said Lessors for yrseves their Exors Admors & Assigns Did
Covenant Grant & agree to & with the sd govrs & their Successors That
they the said Govrs & their Successors shod & might from time
to Time & at all Times thereafter during the Continuance of
the sd Lease nominate & appoint the other Thirty five Children
Boys & Girls (having Settlements in the Parishes of St Margaret &
St John the Evangelist Westmr afsd) in such manner as they the
said Governors their Successors shod think fit But if it shod
happen at any Time thereafter during the Continuance of the sd
Lease that the Number of Children shod be Increased beyond
the above sd Number of Seventy That then is shod — might be
lawful to & for the Chchwns & overseers of the Poor of the sd Parish
of St Margaret Westmr for the Time being and the said Governors
and their Successors to Name alternately so many as shod be
admitted over & above the seventy before limmitted, that is to say
the sd Governors to have one Turn of Nomination And the said
Churchwardens & overseers of the Poor to have the other Turn
of Nomination They the said Lessors their Exors Admors & Assigns
Paying or causing to be paid at the Admission of every such child or
Children upon the Nomination of the said Churchwardens & overseers
of the Poor the Sum of Twenty Shillings and the said Govrs covenanted
to pay the sd reserved Rent & to keep the sd Premises in deposit,
with a Proviso for the Lessors to Re-Enter upon the Default thereof.
