farther progress go the length of adopting or opposing
it, but as it was necessary that an answer should
be given to the Dean and Chapter the Vestries came
to the following resolution.

Resolved, "That the thanks of these Vestries be
"given to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster, for
"their communication of an intention to apply to
"Parliament, for to obtain an Act to erect a
"Penitentiary House on Tothil Fields," and that
"they be requested further to favor these Vestries
"as soon as the said Plan shall be sufficiently
"rip'ned with the nature and extent thereof, and
"of the satisfaction intended to be proposed to the
"two parishes for the relinquishment of their
"rights. Thence the Vestries of the said parishes
"will maturely reflect, and confer with
"the Dean and Chapter without delay."
