A statement of the loss which the Widow Piles is likely to sustain the
ensuing summer by quitting the premises which she now occupies taken
from an average of what she has made the three last Summers by
Boarders and Lodgers.
1800 From 25th March to 29th Septr. – 20 Weeks 6 days – at 16s per week – £21..9s..8 1/2d
Memo The Widow iles has occupied the said premises upwards of 30 Years
during which she has gained a subsistance by Boarders and Lodgers.

I write to inform you I quitted the premises I held on Milbank
Westminster on Saturday March 8th. I have been a tenant for sixteen years
and quiting makes a deal of ods for during the time I was a tenant I
got my livelihood by Nursing and Washing and where I am now I have no
opportunity at present and my moving is a great disadvantage to me. Sir
if you please take my case into consideration and allow me what you
think fit it will be of great service to me. I pay'd six pounds pr year
therefore I make a charge of six pounds.

The Statement of John Thompson of Millbank in the Parish of Saint
John the Evangelist Westminster.
Sheweth That he hath resided in a House and premises on Millbank
aforesaid held by him under John Donne of Millbank Nurseryman at
the Yearly Rent of fifteen Guineas for upwards of fifteen Years and by his
industry and economy he has supported himself his Wife and Aged Mother
with comfort and credit by selling Chelsea Bunns Cakes Fruit and Gingerbread
and also by appropriating a part of the said premises to a Tea Room and
Tea Garden,
That he has laid out upwards of thirty two pounds in improvements
of
