and for which the said John Thompson was at liberty to let the said
Premises at an advanced rent or by good will to reimburse himself for the
expence as aforesaid,

He therefore solely relying relying on Your Benevolence Justice
and Humanity most humbly prays whatever relief as to you shall seem
most fair and equitable, —

The said John Thompson is an East India Volunteer and chearfully
came forward for the defence of is King and Country on the first forming
the said East India Military Establishment and having nothing but his
the Wages of his Labour to subsist himself and family his removal without
some reasonable equivalent will be attended with inevitable ruin and less
