Hodges Contract
of possession of such of the said premises as are
at will on the said 25th of Decr instant instead
of the said 29th of Septr would be attended with damage
in respect of such of the said premises as are
holden at Will be attended with damage to the
amount of £(50) together the said sum
of £ according to the two several or Estimates
respectively contained in the Schedules marked A
and B and hereunto annexed, making together
the said Sum of £(3750)
And whereas the said estimated Sum of £(3750)
is not greater tha the sum which the said Jeremy
Bentham in pursuance of the power of the discretion
in that behalf reposed in him by the said Commissioners
of the Treasury under the and by virtue the powers
of the said Act thinks fit to be allowed in satisfaction
of the said damage said and was and for the
consideration money to be paid to the said Benjamin Hodges for the surrender of his right
and interest in the premises on the supposition that
such quitting of possession and such surrender are
to take place on the said 25th instant.
And whereas the said Benjamin Hodges
hath represented to him the said Jeremy Bentham
that if he the said Benjamin Hodges were to
be permitted to continue in the possession of the
said premises until the said 29th of Sept, next, to wit,
as well of the Leasehold parts periods of the said premises as of the
parcels holden at will his damages would not the damage by reason of the quitting of the same
the damage to him would not a instead of the said
sum of £3750 be reduced to the sum of £2000
