Counter Agreement

Now therefore it is hereby covenanted and agreed by and
between the said parties that if the said Jeremy
Bentham shall permitt the said Benjamin Hodes
quietly to retain such his possession until the 29th day
of September 1800, then and be in that case the said Benjamin Hodges &c
shall, in lieu of the said full sum of £
as mentioned in the said Contract, receive of the
said Jeremy Bentham on the said 29th day of Septr the sum of £
and no more, in lieu of the said entire sum of
payable on the and no more: if until the 25 of Dec March 1801,
the sum of £ and no more: if
untill the 29th of Sept. 1801, the sum of
and no more &c
and if untill the of 180 , nothing.

And the said Jeremy Bentham hereby promises
that he will not

And it is hereby further covenanted and agreed
between the said parties that the said Jeremy
Bentham shall not call upon the said
to quit the premises on the said 25 of March
nor on any day earlier than the said 29th
of Sept: nor on any other day prior to the said
of without one full half year's previous
notice and that the said
shall not nor will call upon the said Jeremy
Bentham for the said sum of £ or any
part thereof on the said 25th day of March, nor on
any day earlier than the said 29th of Septr, nor
then for any greater sum than £ as above-mentioned:
nor at any time thereafter for any sum
greater than the sum in that behalf mentioned as corresponding
to the time in that behalf mentioned as aforesaid.

And the said Jeremy Bentham doth so far forth as he lawfully may or can covenant (to and with the said
Exors Administrators and Assigns)for his Successors Feoffees of the said Estate in the said Contract mentioned, and
doth moreover absolutely covenant for himself his Heirs Exors Admors and Assigns to and with the said
his Exors Admors and Assigns that he the said person if by any authority lawfully derived from the said Act
it should chance that he the said his Exors Admors or Assigns should be obliged to give the possession of the premises
at any one of the several periods in that behalf herein above specified without having received or had it in his power lawfully to receive the sum thereto corresonding & thereupon
then according to the tenor and true intent of this agreement then and in every such case the said Jeremy Bentham & his &c
shall indemnify and harmless the said as against all such damage as shall have accrued thereby
