in my power to make any such preparations as I should
have had time for, had my Leave continued, would be at a Stand;
and not having it in my power to serve my Customers, they
would be obliged to resort to other persons in the same trade, whereby
a Trade which I have raised from comparatively small
beginnings to an amount yielding in neat profit, upwards of one
thousand five hundred a Year, and still increasing, would in all
probability get into other hands, and be altogether lost to me. (Be
this Sum more or less).

Loss in respect of Meadow Ground No 9 & 10 in the Government
Map adjoining to the distillery rented at Will of Mr John
Unthank quantity 5 Acres 7 Perches Twenty four pounds Rent 11 Year
Time to come after notice to quit received of Mr Unthank in consequence
of the Government notice half a Year from 25th of this
instant March to 29th of September: day on which my Interest
in same is made to expire in consequence of the said Government
Notice is the 25th of this instant March. —

The Half Year thus being the only profitable part of the
Year the damage amounts to the expences incurred during the
unprofitable part of the Year added to the loss of the profit that might have
been expected upon the profitable part. I therefore charge to the
account of damage as follows. —

Rent for the Half Year ending 25th March 1800 at £24 Pr Year — £12..0..0
Paid expences of manuring the Ground 5 Acres at £6 Pr Acre — 30..0..0
Expected Profit upon the above advance at 15 per cent — 6..6..0

Loss upon the Dwelling House.
The Dwelling House consists of what was originally two Houses
and which in the Year 1793 I laid into one. — This House and
the Distillery being contiguous to each other and improved under
one and the same Lease (commencement and expiration as
above) I charge to the account of the House alone the whole of
the following Loss upon the Lease.
