Removal Claims— Hodges— Fortey under him Chamberlain do
Estimate of the damage that will be sustained by me Thomas Chamberlain
Occupier of a House at MillBank Westminster in the went of my
being obliged in virtue of a Notice from the Government, dated 6th of this instant
March 1800 to quit my possession of same together with my interest on
said premises,
Laid out and expended by a variety of fixed improvements
on the Premises as I am not entitled to carry away
the money being so laid out at such different times as may
be stated at an average as if the whole had been laid out
together, and the whole benefit of the improvements had commenced
together on the 1st. Janry.. 1795 total money so laid out — £50..s0..d0
Number of Years I should have had to reimburse myself
for that expence by improvement of said premises but for the
Government Notice as above stated — Eight
Benefit per Year which I must have continued to receive
for the above eight Years in order to have reimbursed myself
in respect of the said advance of capital — £0..s5..d0
This multiplied by 3¾ Years being the number of Years
lost by reason of the forced surrender — gives £23..s8..d9
Loss which upon the most moderate computation will be incurred
by the damage Cartage Portage &c of my Household Farmitive
Goods &c — — — 10..0..0
