And whereas the said Benjamin Hodges is moreover an Occupier of
other Parcels of the said Estate as Tenant at Will and as such hath already
recived of the said Jeremy Bentham as Landlord thereof a Notice to quit
the same at Michaelmas next ensuing —

And whereas the said Jeremy Bentham under the powers of the said
Act and by direction of the said Commissioners of the Treasury hath given
Notice to the said Benjamin Hodges to quit possession on the twenty fifth of
this instant March of all such Tenements Parcels of the said Estate as he
holds either on Lease or at Will and thereupon to surrender to him the said
Jeremy Bentham all his right and interest to and in the premises —

And whereas the said Benjamin Hodges hath claimed and made
demand of the Sum of £4750 +N.B. The
sums, herein inserted
in pencil
being put merely
by way of example,
no regard whatever
is to be paid to
their amount.
But the amounts
as proposed by Mr Hodges, are desired
to be inserted
in ink.
as the value of such his right and interest
upon the supposition of his being obliged to quit possession as aforesaid, on the
day aforesaid, inasmuch as such quitting of possession of the Leasehold part of the
said premises on the said 25th instant March, instead of the said 25th of December 1803
would be attended with damage to him the said Benjamin Hodges and his
under Tenants to the amount of £4700 and such quitting of possession
on the said 25th instant instead of the said 29th of September next ensuing would, in
the Schedules marked A and B and hereunto annexed, making together the
said sum of £4750. —

And whereas the said estimated sum of £4750 is not greater than
the sum which the said Jeremy Bentham, in the exercise of the discretion in
that behalf reposed in him by the said Commissioners of the Treasury, under the
powers of the said Act, thinks fit to be allowed, in satisfaction of the said damage
and as and for the consideration money to be paid to the said Benjamin Hodges,
for the surrender of all his right and interest in the premises, on the supposition
that
