or such part of the said premises as he holds on Lease that then and in
that case he the said Benjamin Hodges shall and will in lieu of the
said sum of £2980 accept the reduced sum of £2500 if untill the
25th of December 1801 then the further reduced sum of £200 and so on
according to the Table given in the Schedule marked A and hereunto annexed.
And it is hereby further covenated and agreed that the said Benjamin
Hodges &c shall not be obliged to quit possession of the said Leasehold part
of the said premises earlier than on the said 25th of March 1801 nor shall
he at any time during the terms comprised in the said Lease be obliged
to quit possession without full one half years previous notice at the Least;
nor shall the said Jeremy Bentham &c be obliged to pay in respect of such
right interest and damage as aforesaid on any part thereof any sum
greater than the sum in that behalf specified in the said Table: nor to
pay any sum or sums whatsoever to the said Benjamin Hodges other
than what shall be respectively due in the event of his quitting possession
at the several periods respectively indicated in the said Table.
And it is moreover agreed, that so long as the said Benjamin
Hodges &c shall continue in possession as aforesaid, the Covenants in the
said Lease contained shall remain good and in force on both sides, so far
as may be consistent with the argument, and the said Contract above
mentioned. —
