§.1 Purchase of Ld Salisbury's on the proposal of Mr Long
so warm and so secure, on the part of those
whose province it is to act and to think for
their Lordships, that during their continuance
in office from that time till their departure
out of office, containing a pace period of upwards
of three years, they could never bear to part with it had never been able to prevail
upon themselves to have parted with it part with it – a privation which⊞ ⊞ (your Lordship sees it was but too evident) must have been the
(your Lordship knows) would have been the inevitable consequence, of its being their ever suffering the disposition thus cherished, to be converted into
act. Your Lordship will soon see, that the act. In the <add>whole course of these pages, your Lordship</add>
will not (I believe) see little room much room to doubt, whether the
same disposition has been was not intended to be cherished –
always with the same sincerity and the same warmth – of and sincerity to the
very last moments of the individual, in whose favour
it was entertained who was so highly favoured by it.
My evidence examination (your Lordship has observed)
left me in sight of Tothill Fields: the of last
of four spots with the prospect of which in the course of more
than as many years I had been suffered permitted
to amuse myself. In this instance I had
the further amusement of proposing a Bill,
(at my own charge as usual) without any allowance)
together with that of seeing in print
Notices inserted by their Lordships Sollicitor
in certain Newspapers, in pursuance of their Lordships
ideas in what the and provided, direction
which Notices were declaratory of an intention
on the part of their Lordships to
cause the said Bill to be brought in, to the intent that if such
should be the pleasure of Parliament, the same might
pass
