Request humbly made to the Right Honourable the Speaker
of the House of Commons by Jeremy Bentham of Queen Square
Place Westminster Esquire, on the grounds mentioned in a
Letter of this same date —

That directions be given to the proper Officer — to examine
the original of a paper intitled "28th Report Penitentiary
"Establishment No.9" and dated Treasury Chambers 14th
July 1800: and which occupies page 50 in a Treasury Report
intitled "Further Proceedings of the Lords Commissioners of
"his Majesty's Treasury & respecting the matters stated in
"the Reports of the Committee of Finance" &c "Ordered to be
"printed 15 July 1800:" and having so done, to report and
certify to the said Jeremy Bentham for his information,
whether the signature or signatures of any person or persons,
and, if of any, of what person or persons, is or are now
extant upon the face of such original. —
