Sir
I have to acknowledge the receipt of a Letter
under your signature dated Treasury Chambers
4 Jany 1811.

This letter having two distinct objects points—viz. one
the putting in which questions are put to me in respect of relation to the once
intended Penitentiary establishment, the other calling on
me for information relative to certain buildings supposed
to have been erected on part of the ground purchased for that
purpose in the year 1799, and in my possession
in the chamber of , I take the liberty of giving
a separate answer to this latter part, recurring the my answer
to the other for a separate address.

In the part which to which I am hereby now submitting
an answer
paying my obedience, I observe three questions: to which
I hereby submitt the answers thereto respectively subjoined.
