J.B. to Treasury
Jany 1811
Letter II
Conclusion
Lastly As to remuneration—the last point in your letter—
It is only in the event of the plans "projects" being relinquished
that altogether I am called upon to there can be any use in
my speaking more explicitly than I have done on
the subject of the "remuneration", to employ this being the word a term
which I see no the better that lies before me. On
this subject, I humbly hope that untill some
express
information has been afforded to me, an answer reply to the
observations already submitted, what in any
printed examination before the Finance Committee of 1797–8 as
printed in their 28th Report it there said on the subject
of Compensation (for alas! Sir! whose services
has not been permitted, remuneration is not impossible)
may, for the present, at least I hope suffice.
