Panopt. Penitentiary Committee Wedny 27 March 1811.

Paper delivered to J.B. by Abercromby at breaking
up of the Committee. This served as a basis to
two Letters to Chairman Holford.

Mr Bentham,
Can you state the Terms on
which you would now undertake the
building & superintendence of A
Penitentiary House to contain 400
Male & 300 female Convicts?

The same on a Calculation for
700 male & 300 female Convicts.

If you cannot—state any Terms
upon which you would now enter
upon a Contract for carrying your plan
into execution and if the whole should
therefore with respect to yourself be
relinquished. Can you state the amounts
of Compensation you conceive yourself
entitled to under such Circumstances?
